Sailing Compass Academy was created to improve the way people learn sailing online, making it more practical, clear, and connected to real experience at sea.
We saw that many beginners step on board without enough familiarity or confidence, even after completing sailing courses.
They understand the basics, but don’t feel comfortable with the boat or the real environment.
That’s why we built a different way to learn:

Lefteris
Founder & Visionary
Certified Sailing Instructor • Engineer • PhD in Energy • Educator • Creator of the 3D Academy
Bringing together his engineering expertise, a PhD in Energy, over a decade of university teaching, and more than 15 years of hands-on sailing instruction, Lefteris has built a unique path that unites science, education, and maritime expertise, strengthened by his active offshore racing experience since 1999. Guided by real-world seamanship, he developed an immersive, safety-driven platform to modernize sailing education. From the initial concept and research to video production, design, and programming, the academy reflects countless hours of preparation and a lifelong passion for the sea.

Senior Sailor • Certified Sailing Instructor • Engineer • 35+ Years of Sailing Experience
For more than 15 years, Takis and Lefteris have worked closely together, developing and running the sailing school curriculum and training hundreds of students, many of whom have become confident skippers. An experienced engineer and accomplished sailor, Takis combines deep technical knowledge with decades of hands-on sailing and teaching experience. Through years of instruction and offshore sailing, he brings practical insight that helps translate real seamanship into clear and effective learning, strengthening the academy’s educational approach and authenticity.

With a PhD in Energy, an engineering background, and over ten years of experience on monohulls as a certified offshore sailor, Julija brings both scientific rigor and real-world seamanship to the 3D Sailing Platform Academy. Her background in structured project assessment adds a critical and analytical lens to the development of our educational material. Her experience enables her to identify what must be explained with precision and how to present it in a way that remains simple, accessible, and understandable for everyone.
